In the Quartier international project, the three levels of government have called upon the private partners – landowners as well as other sponsors – to help reach an exceptional level of quality in the revitalization of the public realm. This participation of the private sector has allowed, among other things, for the creation of an exclusive line of urban furniture, the installation of fountains as well as for the realization of thematic projects, such as “La Joute” at Place Jean-Paul Riopelle and the reinstallation of the Guimard metro entrance in the Square Victoria. Thanks to this extra contribution from the private sector, the Quartier international was able to earn several distinctions in the areas of urban and industrial design.

Among these distinctions, three were awarded to Michel Dallaire for the line of urban furniture he designed in the context of the Quartier international project.
